Smartphones moving to cell phones category
On July 7th we will transfer all Smart Phones products from their current category (PDAs) to the Cellular Phones category. This will affect MPR/MPA for the Electronics and Computers and Software categories. For example the iPhone will be found in the cell phones category rather than PDA.
Thanks,
Yoel |

RE: Smartphones moving to cell phones category
Quote: yoelc ...This will affect MPR/MPA for the Electronics and Computers and Software categories... Will it affect those lists retroactively or point-forward? Pretty sure that in the past when a product migrated from one category to another, its hits prior to the migration stayed with the old category. I moved a watch from Gifts to Sporting Goods a year or so ago, but its pre-move hits didn't seem to count toward MPR status in Sporting Goods. Of course it's moot now, as it's been a "category unknown" product (sniff) since November...

Sorry for the delayed reply. The lists will be updated with the data retroactively. A smartphone review in Computer Hardware MPR will now be competing in the electronics category.

Works for me. Is this a one-off, or will the pattern hold for other products that have moved from category to category - e.g., athletic shoe reviews, which used to be under Sporting Goods and are now under Wellness?

Rex,
This is how the system works. When products move to different categories so do the reviews. The process that tallies the "Top" rankings moves the review history to it's new category.
