I bought this water bottle thinking it was more of a novelty item, rather than something I would use all the time. I was wrong. I use this water bottle everyday and consequently have drank a lot more water than I normally would have. The water bottle is useful for anyone who needs more water on a daily basis and can help your health so much! I was surprised by how motivating it actually is for me. When you first get the bottle you have to do all the settings on the display. You enter your information including date and time, weight and after entering your weight you are given a recommended amount of water to be drunk on a daily basis, this is just a recommendation and you are able to set it to your own goal if you would like. After everything is set up you press the start button and the timer starts as you drink it calculates how many ounces you are drinking and also displays how many oz/hr you are consuming on average. Hit the mode buttong and it will give you your goal and the percentage you have drank so far to reach that goal. Hit the mode button again and it tells you the time and date. The bottle is made very well and seems as though it will last a long time. It can be put in the dishwasher, but all the other pieces need to be washed by hand. The only tricky thing about this bottle is that in order to drink from it you must bite on the mouthpiece in order to get the water out. After reading the directions you understand that it needs to keep water in the straw at all times because if water gets into the straw the computer will be off on the amount of water consumed. I got used to drinking it that way rather quickly and it isn't a problem at all now. Overall this is a wonderful bottle, I went from writing down on a piece of paper how much water I consumed in a day, to now with the hydra coach I don't have to do anything extra than drinking from it.
