| KickinA's Full Review: Nikon Nuvis S APS Film Camera |
I initially purchased this camera due to its small size, construction quality, name brand, and cool looks.
The construction of this camera is excellent. Competing APS models from Minolta and Canon are about the same size as the Nuvis, but are difficult to hold, due to their small size. However, the Nuvis has a slide out metal cover that exposes the lens, and actually makes the camera easier to hold, as it increases its size substantially.
Even though the Nuvis was very well constructed, it fell flat were it matters most. The quality of the APS pictures were terrible. The pictures from this camera were grainy and blurry. Frankly, I think this product tarnishes Nikon's good name. However, I do not think it was Nikon's fault that this camera performed so poorly. I just think the APS format is just a poor film format to start with.
Anyway, I ended up returning this unit, and getting a regular 35mm camera.
