| pbwise's Full Review: Nikon Nuvis S APS Film Camera |
I bought my Nikon Nuvis S about 8 months ago. I wanted something small and from a reputable brandname. I looked at the elph but when I was in the store, the salesman showed me how my finger seemed to go over the flash so I deemed it too small. I also looked at a minolta that was very similar to the nuvis, though he told me the quality was not as good. I bought the nuvis and have had a few problems with it.
Don't get me wrong, this is a cool camera that reminds me of a really big zippo lighter. It is easy to carry in a pocket, though it is a little on the heavy side, probably from the protective case around it. The problem I have had with the Nuvis has been focus. I have gotten a couple rolls of film back where the pictures, mostly of people have been out of focus. I looked in my owners manual to see how to correct this problem and it suggested cleaning off the autofocus area. I also thought that my hand could be covering it, but that theory was untrue. I am waiting to get back my most recent roll taken on the 4th of July to see if my pictures are still blurry. If they are, I am going to call Nikon and figure out what is wrong.
Also, my battery failed recently. I am not an expert on cameras but I would tend to believe they should last more than 8 months. I think it is because of continually opening and closing the face of the camera and showing it off to everyone.
