| skyrydr's Full Review: Nikon Zoom 800 35mm Film Camera |
I have owned four Nikons and none of them have ever been cameras which have disappointed me. They are great devices for those who have photographic skill and area also great for the point and shoot folks.
The Zoom 800 is a great one. I use if often since it has a sturdy body- a feature that Nikons seem to come with. For the ones I have owned, I have always seen them to be well made and work horse cameras.
This one is made to fit neatly into your hand and work well in the manner in which it should be held. It is easy to move the zoom lens in and out while looking through the sight. I find this camera to be a really nice piece of equipment. Some cameras just seem to fit well in your hands and work well. This one did the moment I picked it up in the store.
I find that the film carriage is easy to load and it seems to close without gapping or having any problems some of the earlier models had. The flash is powerful enough and recycles fast enough to not have to wait long between shots, unless your battery is starting to wane. However, be aware, the battery will cost you about $16.00 to replace.
This is a great camera to take along on a nature or vacation trip, since it is pretty light weight, despite the lens that moves easily in and out of the retractable channel in the camera body.
In all, this is a great camera, that provides some really worthwhile output, all things considered. With the exception of Leica lens, I would say that Nikon ranks as one of the best within the moderately priced range.
This is defintiely a great caemra and a good buy for someone who is interested in having a device that will be there to use for many years to come.
