| darkucio's Full Review: Olympus IS-20 DLX QD 35mm Film Camera |
Having owned some cameras that just didn't deliver I was fed up with ruined pictures from some great moments in my life (concerts, sports matches, travels etc.) and so I decided to buy a camera that delivers! And I was so right to buy this camera!
No more of those shots that look beautiful through the objective and never turn out like that, because this camera has a function WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET!
That is absolutely true, but the only thing you need to be careful with is the use of flash, because this twin-power flash delivers a lot of flash power and if you don't want to have really bright pictures, use flash wisely.
But everything else is like a fairy tale.
The camera looks beautiful, it is extremely easy to use, almost everything is done automatically, it has a powerful zoom and most importantly it makes high quality pictures. Although I paid about $350 for it I got the teleconverter with the camera, so I can zoom in to 210mm which is just amazing!!!
Proving my claim that it is extremely easy to use, this camera has 5 buttons on its right side. The one in the middle is called "full auto" and basically when you choose this option, this camera does it all for you, except press the final button to take the picture. Around this button there are 4 program buttons. Each one serving its unique purpose. One is for portrait shots, one for freezing moving objects, one for landscape and one for night scenes. I think the names of these programs say it all about the functions of these buttons.
And also what is really incredible about this camera, while being almost fully automatic, it does offer more advanced photographers to do many things manually. I don't use that much, or at all, because I'm not an advanced photographer.
But if you wanted to for example, you could set your own focus, you could set your own flash modes, you could also set your own aperture-preferred auto-whatever that means, hehe, or long time for setting the shutter speed etc.
So, we have to the conclusion that this camera fits all sorts of photographers, beginners, amateurs and more advanced. I put myself in the middle of beginner and an amateur, so if I can use this camera well without any problems, you know that it doesn't take much to learn about it...
Basically the only thing I didn't like is the carrying case for the camera. It looks a bit old, as far as style is conserned. And it is not practical, you can only put your camera in it, nothing else.
But as far as the camera is conserned certainly more than worth its price...
FINALLY READY TO BEGIN FILLING MY PHOTO ALBUM WITH GREAT PICTURES!!!
