11thhrscholar's Full Review: Nikon FM10 35mm Film Camera
After taking and developing pictures for an entire semester with a borrowed camera, I decided it was time to buy my own. The photographers told me that Nikon was "the best piece of crushed glass ever made." I shopped around and came across the FM-10. It is a new camera that is commonly considered to be a "great student model." It is totally manual, with very few bells and whistles. It does, however, have a multiple exposure switch and a button which enables the user to see a preview of their photo. The highest shutter speed possible is 2000ths of a second and the fastest film accommodation is 3200. It is light weight and attractive. I spent a month in the Dominican Republic this summer and seven weeks in Vermont. The pictures I took this summer are absolutely beautiful. The FM10 is also of a moderate price. In my quest for a new camera I never found the FM10 to be over $280, even with the major dealers. If you are a veteran and you would prefer a more advanced camera or just an amateur with a bigger budget, FM10 may not be your final choice. However, I highly recommend this camera to those seeking to enter the world of photography.
